The Seven Best Email Marketing Services

How To Do Email Marketing

Establishing and maintaining an online presence is very important, especially with the Age of the Internet in full effect. Like me, you may wish to have seen the golden days when paperboys would stand on busy street corners, shouting ‘Extra, extra! Read all about it!’ Those days seem great in hindsight, being emblematic of a simpler, kinder time, but the truth is that we will never get those times back.

Fortunately, there are other ways of getting the word around. What is that word? Well, that is up to you, dear business owner. Whatever it is, it is a word that you want to make sure is heard.

Almost everyone has an email address nowadays. Essentially every online service demands it. This is excellent news for you, because the means by which the word is spread is already within reach. If only there were some sort of service that could aid you in this endeavor …

We are here to tell you that there is such a service. In this article, we are going to cover not just one but seven of the best email marketing services. By the end, you should have a clear idea of which direction to go.

Constant Contact

The first service on our list can probably be considered the best ‘entry-level’ email marketing service. It also happens to be one of the largest services and one of the fastest-growing ones, too. More than likely, this is due to its slew of great features and convenient, easy-to-use tools.

The ease of use extends to almost every function you can come to expect from email marketing services. These include email lists, contacts, templates, and calendars, which all become very easy to manage with this great service.

If you decide to use Constant Contact, you will have complete access to tracking and reports. You will also have access to several built-in social media sharing options, a stock image (copyright-free) library, as well as Facebook ad integration (assuming your target market includes people over the age of fifty).

Those features are all included with any basic account. Constant Contact also has an ‘Email Plus’ option, which provides you with even more features, including automated emailing, surveys and polls, coupons, and online donations. There is also a feature that allows you to send targeted messages in order to increase your open rate.

If all of that was not enough to make you a believer, if you are based in the US, Constant Contact also offers live seminars. These will teach you the basics of email marketing and how to make the most out of it.

With everything considered, we would proudly recommend Constant Contact as one of the best — if not the best — email marketing services out there. Even with all the noise of online traffic, Constant Contact’s voice remains loud and clear.

ConvertKit

The next email marketing service we are going to be looking at goes by the name of ‘ConvertKit.’ Once you know its main feature, you will understand why.

First, this one is mainly meant for bloggers and authors, but it can definitely still be used by any marketing team. Still, the features it includes are definitely meant for the former group.

ConvertKit boasts a slew of tools designed to make reaching and converting potential audience members all the more easier. Its most unique feature allows you to easily present content upgrades and other incentives with a wide array of email forms. These built-in features also allow you to easily manage auto-responses.

This service provides you with the means to easily segment and categorize both potential and existing subscribers. It also allows you to make automated emails feel a lot more personal, meaning you will have a greater chance of converting the non-believers, as it were. While not a propaganda reel by any stretch, these targeted marketing tools are robust enough that your reach should never go unnoticed or unfelt.

As we said before, many of the features on offer from ConvertKit specifically cater to online content creators, like professional bloggers. We would happily recommend this service to anyone, but more specifically, to the writers and authors out there who need a bit more reach.

GetResponse

The next service we are going to be looking at is particularly popular among smaller businesses. However, that does not mean that it is lacking in features or anything you might expect from professional software. As with our previous two entries on this list, GetResponse’s many features and tools are easy to use, simplifying email marketing for even the technologically challenged individuals out there.

The main draw of GetResponse is its focus on optimizing campaigns. With a ‘drag-and-drop’ feature that enables you to quickly create professional-quality forms, landing pages, and auto-responders, you are sure to be boosting interest in your campaign in no time.

Besides that, GetResponse also integrates third-party software tools, including those found in lead generation software, such as Google Docs or ZenDesk. Also, their automation tools can quickly produce smart, professional, automated campaigns.

If you get stuck with anything, GetResponse includes loads of free resources for you to browse, ensuring that you will find the help you need in no time. If that does not work, you can always contact the company via phone or — you guessed it — email.

SendinBlue

If you are in need of a marketing service that is totally beginner-friendly, this next one is for you. With powerful yet simple features, SendinBlue is easy to come to grips with, meaning that you will be extending your reach in no time.

First off, this is the first service we have covered that also provides SMS-based marketing, as well as email, though this will require some additional cost. Regardless, with whichever plan you choose, you will have access to the service’s brilliant and deceitfully simple email automation features. If you have never had any experience in marketing, no worries. SendinBlue is the service for you.

SendinBlue also uses complex AI algorithms that can determine the best times during which to send bulk emails. This lessens the burden on yourself, and it also means that your emails should never go unnoticed or unread.

SendinBlue offers a number of different plans to suit your needs, each with their own price tags, of course. Unlike the previous entries on our list so far (which only offer free trials), SendinBlue has a completely free email marketing plan. With this, you will have access to most of the service’s excellent features and an email limit of 300 per day. The only catch is that each message will include the company’s own branding, as well.

There are also other, more premium plans that have recently been upgraded to also include features such as a landing page builder, live chat, and Facebook ad integration. All of these additional features mean that you will definitely be getting a big bang for your buck.

Drip

This next email marketing service is one of the best because it has some of the best email-automation technology available. While certainly one of the more expensive options out there, we believe that the price may, in fact, be worth it in the end.

Drip has seamless integration with website-building tools, such as WordPress. Now, why does that matter? Due to the coordinated effort from Drip and its associated tools, you will be able to easily add sign-up forms for your website, as well as find new leads.

Thanks to some brilliant and intelligent email-automation tools, Drip provides you with the means to make every email feel that much more personal. Every potential viewer will feel as though they are being addressed directly, not at random from some mailing list. Other features from Drip include smarter email segmenting, list groups, and a visual workflow builder.

If ever you lose your way (and we will admit, with so many great features, this may be the case), Drip provides several sources of support for all its users. These support options include live chats, web seminars, and extensive documentation.

Drip is the go-to option if you want to make the jump from ‘small business owner’ to ‘professional corporate magnate.’ Okay, maybe it will take more than that. Still, with tons of excellent features, there is little chance that you will ever go wrong when you drop with Drip.

AWeber

This is one of the oldest email marketing services on our list, but it still finds extensive use today. This is probably because, even despite its age, AWeber still contains a great selection of features that have managed to stay relevant even with so much advancement over the past few years.

Another reason AWeber may have been able to maintain its popularity is due to the fact that it can function seamlessly with other third-party services, including WordPress. Its list of handy features includes ready-for-use email templates, tracking (and insights), auto-responses, and extensive list management tools.

AWeber offers a 30-day free trial, which should be long enough for you to be able to get comfortable with the service’s features. After that, the price is relatively low compared to some other email marketing options. If you do get stuck trying to make use of this service, there are numerous resources available to you. These resources include webinars, an impressive abundance of how-to’s and tutorials, and, you guessed it, email support.

If you need a service that is equal parts reliable and extensive, AWeber is a great choice. Its long experience in the market also makes it totally trustworthy (not that the others are not), meaning that no matter what, you will be getting your money’s worth.

Mailchimp

With a name like that, we knew we just had to save this one for last. Do not let the silly title fool you, though. Mailchimp is one of the most commonly-used email marketing services in the world. This is probably because of the service’s main draw — its services are forever free.

Now, a free service does come with its limitations. After all, with a free plan, Mailchimp must have a hard time competing with other, more premium services. Despite that, it still offers you all the basic tools and features that you will need and then some.

For starters, Mailchimp comes with a simple and easy-to-use email builder, as well as some very basic analytics for you to keep track of. Segmenting contacts and optimizing auto-responses are also both very easy.

Secondly, you can easily integrate your use of Mailchimp with other services, such as WordPress, but this is not a built-in feature.

Unfortunately, where Mailchimp falls short is in its limited selection of more advanced features. It has previously attempted to include more complex tools, but they are still not as robust as those you may find in other premium services.

Their automation features are also limited, unfortunately. Beyond that, their support system is not as extensive as others. You will receive access to a wide variety of different guides and tutorials, but there are no webinars for you to follow or live chats to use. The only other way to reach them — ironically — is through email.

Still, when it comes to cheap, readily available email marketing services, Mailchimp is reliable and effective, which is the reason we have included it on this list.

Conclusion

Hopefully, by now, you know where your email marketing loyalties lie. Even if you don’t, all of the services we have listed offer free trials, meaning that if you are still not sure, you can give them a try yourself. Regardless, email marketing is a valuable asset to consider for businesses of all sizes. With these options, you cannot go wrong.
